• Deliver a compliant, production ready Iceberg REST catalog implementation
• Be a small and relatively simple service
• Out-source authorization to Open Policy Agent

Approach

Don’t rely on other projects for core Iceberg functionality. Mechanically port what is needed from the canonical Iceberg Java implementation.

Validate against the Iceberg REST Compatibility Kit (RCK)

Allow extensible authorization by leveraging Open Policy Agent.
